PLDT Officers attend a Corporate Governance Enhancement SessionMicro

On the morning of October 28, 2008, forty two of the fifty two active officers of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) attended the Corporate Governance Enhancement Session - 2008 at the PASAY AB Room of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Led by no less than PLDT’s President and CEO, Mr. Napoleon L. Nazareno, the officers comprise PLDT’s senior management and hold the ranks of Senior Vice President, First Vice President and Vice President The forty two
attendees from PLDT represents 80.7% of all the active officers of PLDT. They were joined by thirteen other officers from SMART and eleven officers from ePLDT, major subsidiaries of PLDT.

Two very highly-respected resource persons were tapped for the session: Dr. Jesus P Estanislao of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), a Securities and Exchange Commission - accredited Training Provider, and Dr. Antonette Palma-Angeles of the JB Fernandez Center for Ethics of the Ateneo de Manila University. Dr. Estanislao spoke about the Corporate Governance dimensions of the current global financial crisis. Dr. Palma – Angeles for her part, introduced the theory and practice of Corporate Moral Development.
