PLDT, in its efforts to provide customers a “one-stop-shop” for their communication needs, acquired interests in other segments of the telecom industry. Today, PLDT’s business is basically divided into three major categories – wireless, fixed line, and information and communications technology. As PLDT continuously seeks to improve on its corporate governance compliance, PLDT is also including its subsidiaries in its overall corporate governance compliance initiatives.
- Code of Ethics of Subsidiaries
The Governance and Nomination Committee has instructed the respective Board of Directors of PLDT Subsidiaries to adopt a code of ethics similar in form and structure to the PLDT Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. The PLDT Board of Directors’ intention is that in the long run, good business conduct and ethics are not to be confined within the walls of PLDT but will be shared to every organization where PLDT has significant interest.
- Other CG Docs of Subsidiaries
Although not formal corporate governance programs, PLDT subsidiaries have their own various initiatives that are geared toward the protection of the interest of their stakeholders.
